NEPC Certificate: Fee, Documents and How to Register

A new NEPC Exporter’s Certificate costs ₦13,500. It is valid for 24 months, then renews annually, and NEPC issues it within one working day once your payment is confirmed. You apply yourself at nepc.gov.ng/ereg/exporter. No agent is required.

The facts

Those are NEPC’s own published figures, read from its portal on 18 September 2026. If an agent quotes you a different “official” fee, ask them to separate the statutory charge from their own service charge — see what an export licence actually costs.

What you need to upload

The required documents depend on what kind of entity is registering. NEPC lists three.

Limited liability company

• Certificate of Incorporation, issued by the Corporate Affairs Commission
• Certified True Copy of the Memorandum and Articles of Association
• Current Certified True Copy of Form CAC 1.1, “section C” — Particulars of Directors

Co-operative society

• Certificate of Registration, issued by a State Ministry of Commerce, a Local Government, or an FCT Area Council
• Bye Laws of the society

Government or non-governmental organisation

• Certificate of Registration, issued by the Corporate Affairs Commission
• The constitution of the organisation
• Memorandum for Guidance of Applicant

Scans must be legible. A rejected upload is the most common reason a one-day issuance turns into a week.

Can you register with a CAC business name?

NEPC’s portal lists requirements for the three entity types above and does not publish a rule either way on business names. We are not going to guess at it. Ask NEPC directly on [email protected] or +234 701 946 0996 before you pay for a CAC registration on the strength of a blog post — several in this niche state the rule confidently without citing NEPC.

How to pay

NEPC’s portal accepts local credit and debit cards, international cards, internet banking, mobile money, USSD, and payment on bank premises in Nigeria.

After paying, copy your Order ID, enter it in the portal’s “Get Status” field, and confirm the payment landed. The one-working-day clock starts at confirmation, not at payment.

Once issued, log in, open Registration Details, and choose download and print certificate.

What it costs you to skip it

The Exporter’s Certificate is the first step of the export process, and the rest of the chain assumes you hold one. Without it you cannot complete the export documentation that banks, inspection agencies and Customs expect, and you are outside the scheme that makes you eligible for the Export Expansion Grant. The certificate is also what a serious foreign buyer’s compliance team checks — NEPC runs a public verification page precisely so they can.

Letting it lapse is its own trap. Renewal is ₦7,500 if you renew on time and ₦12,500 once you are more than three months past expiry — so an overlooked renewal costs ₦5,000 more than a remembered one.
